Over half of Licinia’s total area is covered by the original forest that has always characterised these typical Tuscan hills. The forest remains untouched in order to protect the habitats of all the species of wild animals that live there. Light maintenance is carried out close to the farmhouses, meanwhile in the deep forest, maintenance merely consists of pruning the vegetation, dry shrubs, and clearing fallen trees.
It’s easy to visit the forest thanks to the paths that lead you through and you often come across various examples of local fauna. Moreover, from certain points you can enjoy a view of the winery’s crops or admire the panoramic scene of Val Di Chiana, Alta S.Egidio, Monte Cetona and Amiata.
